Tonight, July 26, 2023, at 9:18 p.m., Bay St. George RCMP received a report of a disturbance in Stephenville involving an individual with a firearm who was making threats to harm others. Police responded immediately, located the individual and arrested him just before 10:00 p.m. in the area of Queen Street in Stephenville. He is being held in custody and charges are anticipated.
Bay St. George RCMP has received many calls about the situation and assures residents that the matter is resolved and the suspect is in custody.
Further details will be provided on any charges laid.
