Police seize $17,000 in illegal drugs from psilocybin dispensary<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Windsor Police Service has charged one individual and seized $17,515 in illegal drugs from a downtown dispensary that sells psilocybin, commonly known as magic mushrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On <\/a>February 12, 2025, shortly before noon, members of the Drugs and Guns Unit (DIGS) executed a search warrant at the dispensary located in the 300 block of Ouellette Avenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the search, officers located and seized the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 1,400 psilocybin capsules<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 1,127 grams of dried mushrooms<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 73 psilocybin-infused chocolate bars (5 grams psilocybin per bar)<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 46 packages of psilocybin-infused gummies<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 6 packages of psilocybin-infused tea<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 4 psilocybin vapes<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u2022 3 packages of psilocybin-infused candy<\/p>\n\n\n\n A 22-year-old employee on scene at the time has been charged with possession of a schedule III substance for the purpose of trafficking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since July 2023, officers have executed six search warrants at this storefront location, seizing over $180,000 worth of psilocybin-infused products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Health Canada warns that taking magic mushrooms can cause people to \u201csee, hear or feel things that are not there, or to experience anxiety, fear, nausea and muscle twitches accompanied by increased heart rate and blood pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n This remains an ongoing investigation.
