The Windsor Police Service has arrested a 28-year-old woman <\/a>following a fatal motor vehicle collision that killed a pedestrian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly before 7 p.m. on March 8, 2025, police were dispatched to the 4700 block of Tecumseh Road East following a report of a motor vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a rental moving truck drove onto the sidewalk, struck a pedestrian, and crashed into a commercial building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pedestrian, a 27-year-old woman, was pronounced deceased at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The area was closed for several hours while members of the Windsor Police Collision Reconstruction and Forensic Identification Units processed the scene. During a search of the rental truck, officers located and seized a loaded firearm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The driver was arrested and will face the following charges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Possession of a loaded firearm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Possession of a firearm with an altered serial number<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Possession of a firearm with no licence<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Occupying a motor vehicle with a prohibited device<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Possession of a prohibited device<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Careless storage of a firearm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
