A London man has been charged after members of the London Police Service Uniformed Division responded to an assault call in the city’s downtown core over the weekend.

London man arrested

LONDON, ON (March 3, 2025) – A London man has been charged after members of the London Police Service Uniformed Division responded to an assault call in the city’s downtown core over the weekend.

On Sunday, March 2, 2025, at approximately 7:30 a.m. two men in a residential building in the area of Wellington and Simcoe streets became involved in an argument.

During the dispute one of the men brandished what appeared to be a firearm and pointed it at the other man before threatening and shoving him.

The victim returned to his residence and called 9-1-1.

Officers responded, located and arrested the suspect male.

No injuries were reported.

A search of the suspect yielded a piece of pipe.

No firearm was located.

As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old man, of London, has been charged with the following offences:

• Assault;

• Uttering threats/ death or bodily harm;

• Assault with a weapon; and,

• Breach of probation.

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in London court today in relation to the charges.
