Just before 8 a.m., officers were dispatched to the collision in the 30000 block of Harris Road.
A white Dodge pickup vehicle that had struck a pedestrian and sheared off a power pole was discovered by emergency personnel with serious front-end damage. Witnesses’ and first responders’ first aid was insufficient to rescue the victim.
At the scene, the truck driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
