Region of Peel – Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau and 12 Division Uniform Patrol have arrested three individuals for several firearms offences related to a stolen vehicle investigation.
On Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025, officers were in the area of Invader Crescent in Mississauga and investigated the occupants of a stolen vehicle. The individuals fled the scene but were taken into custody a short time later. Two of the individuals were in possession of loaded firearms.
Kyrel Dawkins, a 21-year-old male from Ajax, was charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm X2
- Fail to Comply with Release Order
Syrus Hamilton, a 24-year-old male from Toronto, who had previously been released on an order from firearm-related charges, was charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Careless use, Storage, and Handling of Firearm
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited firearm
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order
- Breach of Probation
Damar Abrahams, a 23-year-old man from Brampton, who had previously been released on an order from firearm and stolen vehicle-related charges, was charged with:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
- Careless use, Storage, and Handling of Firearm
- Carrying concealed weapon
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Firearm
- Possession of a Loaded Prohibited firearm
- Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order
- Breach of Probation
All three individuals were all held for a bail hearing and attended the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
