Federal officials said that an earthquake occurred Saturday evening in northeastern British Columbia.
According to Earthquakes Canada, the earthquake started 62 kilometres west of Fort St. John at 6:30 p.m. Pacific time.
The magnitude of the earthquake, which struck at a depth of seven km, was 4.1. In October and April of last year, the area also saw earthquakes of a comparable size.
The official alert states, “There are no reports of damage, and none would be expected.”
