OTTAWA, Mark Holland, the health minister, has announced that he would not be running in the upcoming federal election.
In a social media post on Thursday, the Ajax member of parliament stated that “it is time to go home.”
Holland was re-elected in 2015 after being elected in 2004 and serving until 2011.
Mark Carney, the prime minister-designate, will take the oath of office Friday along with his new cabinet.
Rideau Hall will host the swearing-in event at 11 a.m.
The 37 seats under Justin Trudeau are anticipated to be surpassed by fewer seats at the new cabinet table.
