A player of the London Knights OHL hockey team has been identified as the driver of a car involved in a single-vehicle collision in south London.

London resident Cameron Allen, 20, is charged with several offences.

  Impaired vehicle operation

  • Impaired operation exceed blood alcohol concentration
  • Fail to remain
  • Fail to report accident, and novice driver- blood alcohol concentration above zero.

Police said that at approximately 3:20 a.m., a person contacted 911, and officers arrived to the vicinity of Colonel Talbot Road near Clayton Walk.

According to police, there seemed to be blood on the driver’s side door and on the path going out of the car.

The car’s driver was located and taken into custody at a neighbouring residence not far from the site.

Additionally, according to police, EMS sent one of the passengers to the hospital with minor injuries.

The defendant was freed from detention and is expected to show up in court in London on March 6.

The Knights acquired Allen, a defenseman and Washington Capitals prospect, in December. Since then, he has participated in 18 games, scoring four goals and dishing out thirteen assists.
