Three men are facing charges and a fourth is recovering in hospital following a violent machete assault

Three men are facing charges, and a fourth is recovering in the hospital following a violent machete assault in the parking lot of the McDonald’s at Kingsway Mall early Monday morning.

Edmonton police say the incident happened around 4 a.m. near 111 Avenue and 106 Street, where three men were reportedly fighting with a fourth. One of the suspects was seen striking the man with a machete.

All four individuals are known to each other, according to police.

The suspects fled the scene together in a vehicle but were soon located and arrested by officers. They are now facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault.

The injured man was found in the parking lot and transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
