Victoria police have arrested a man and seized over three kilograms of drugs following a search of a residence and a vehicle containing a hidden compartment

The arrest was the result of a four-week drug trafficking investigation, which concluded with a raid on a Bear Mountain home on February 7, according to a statement from the Victoria Police Department.

During the search, officers seized a kilogram of fentanyl, several ounces of cocaine and methamphetamine, 20 litres of gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB), and $105,000 in cash. Investigators noted that a significant portion of the drugs had been packaged in one-ounce bags.

The suspect was arrested inside the residence but was released without charges as the investigation remains ongoing.

A search of the suspect’s vehicle uncovered a professionally installed hidden compartment. Investigators used X-ray imaging to locate the compartment and accessed it by pressing a specific sequence of buttons inside the car.

Inside the secret compartment, police discovered a kilogram of cocaine, 500 grams each of fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with a loaded Glock handgun and a bag of ammunition.
