A suspect sought by the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Hate Crimes Unit has turned himself in to police.
On Dec. 22, 2024 at approximately 5:10 a.m., an unknown male suspect was captured on surveillance camera defacing an exterior window of Evolution Wonderlounge. The damage to the window was directly over a “Protect Trans Kids” poster, which was posted on the inside of the glass. The suspect also carved what appears to be a cross into the window glass.
On Feb. 19, 2025, police issued a media release seeking public assistance to identify the male. On Feb. 25, 2025, Cameron Mason, 47 turned himself in to police. He was charged with mischief to property associated to an identifiable group and released on an undertaking with conditions.
